Shipment into the deep sea port Rotterdam: Unloaded by the inland waterway craft, the travel now continued in the direction of St. Petersburg with an ocean going freighter. Arriving there, a change was made swiftly to an inland waterway craft again, that traveled on to Dzerzhinsk to the heavy goods handling system.
Preparation of the pier There the parts were loaded onto so-called barges, in order to enable further travel on the Oka river to the destination Vyksa. Barges are similar to the pontoons employed by us.
Loading onto heavy-duty transport As already in Germany, the transport in Russia was also carried out by inland waterway shipping on barges (pontoons). Speed was of the essence because icing over threatened with the coming winter.
Destination run-in The last few meters by road.
Winter begins The landing pier a week later. Unloading would no longer have been possible.
